Over 30 hours of driving...hundreds of Backyardigans episodes..
We left Oklahoma at 4 a.m!! And arrived in Holland, Michigan at 7:30 pm (local time). Miss Mia did so great on the ride up. She watched (as you can tell from her lounging in the picture) many videos, especially her beloved Backyardigans. She colored a few pictures, sang many songs, and kept a keen eye out for birds and cows. The shocker was that in the 13 hour trip, she only slept 1.5 hours!! (And yet she was really good.)
We arrived a Hubby's maternal grandparents first..where Miss Mia was showered with affection and gifts. (They had not seen her since she was 6 months old...things had changed!)
Mia with the great-grandparents from their first visit to see her in March. (Our little bald baby..)
At Great-Grandparents house...reading a bedtime story..
The great-grandparents have been shopping around for new toys for Mia's arrival and even re-finished some old finds. The picture of Mia in the high chair is the refinished chair that belonged to her great-grandma. The chair is still in fabulous condition, complete with original metal tray. (Not bad looking for being 75 years old!)
The weather was to die for! We escaped the 100+ temperatures for nice and cool 70 degree days. On our second night in Holland, we took Mia to see the lighthouse (Big Red) and we walked out on the pier.
